A scholarship was established in 2007 by friends of the German Heritage Language School and in the name of Gerta Josenhans. She was the founder of the German Heritage Language School Association of Nova Scotia in 1987. The 200 $ scholarship will be awarded as an encouragement in April at the closing ceremonies to a child who has continued with German Studies at the GHLS for at least 3 years.










We have established the Eva Huber Scholarship in the amount of $ 200 for an adult who has continued with German Studies at the GHLS for three years. Eva Huber was a strong supporter of the German School over many years.



The recipient for 2016 is Chris Henkelmann.
The recipient for 2015 is Sarah Ensslin.
The recipient for 2014 is Tina Prosser-Cameron.

The recipient for 2013 is Karen McKendry.
The recipient for 2012 is Margaret Havey.


The recipient for 2011 is Lindsay Wood.









The German Canadian Association has established a new Scholarship in honor of continuous and successful studies with the award of 2 tuition-free semesters at the German Heritage Language School.

The recipients for 2016 are Cora Fanning and Mike MacMillan (no photo).


The recipients for 2015 are Teresa WooShue and Heather MacKinnon.


The recipients for 2014 are Christine Williams and Clarence Whynot.
